Real Madrid eye £46m bid for Dean Huijsen as Spanish giants battle Chelsea to signing teenage defender from Bournemouth

Cadena SER reports that Madrid are keen on the defender, who made his Spain debut last week and has impressed in his debut Premier League season for Bournemouth. The Blues are also keeping tabs on him - but whether the Cherries are willing to sell for below the reported £55m ($71m) release clause is a different question.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have been short of defenders this season due to injuries, while Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba are both aged 32. Declaring for Spain has increased Huijsen's profile in the country and a move to the capital could see him become one of the national team's key players.

The report states that Bournemouth could be offered players on loan to sweeten the deal, with striker Endrick and attacking midfielder Arda Guler mentioned. Guler is said to be the preferred option of the two.

Huijsen is a key member of a Bournemouth side aiming to qualify for European football for the first time in their history. They are also still in the FA Cup and take on Manchester City in the quarter-final on Sunday.
