Speaking to Abendzeitung newspaper, the Bayern chief said: "Max Eberl has informed me that Florian Wirtz is probably leaning towards Liverpool. I can't say how things will continue with Leverkusen."

Earlier on Saturday, Sky Sports' Florian Plettenberg reported that Leverkusen are now working to complete the player's transfer swiftly and are waiting for the Reds' first offer. The former German champions reportedly want a transfer fee and a player from the English club, as they are looking to add a new goalkeeper, a defender, a striker and a potential replacement for Wirtz.
