Yeni Malatyaspor unveil former Kaizer Chiefs player Hadebe

Defender Teenage Hadebe has officially been unveiled by Turkish outfit Yeni Malatyaspor.

On Friday, Kaizer Chiefs revealed a deal had been struck with the Turkish Super Lig club that would see Hadebe jetting out to Turkey for a medical.

Nonetheless, Malatyaspor has now officially announced the acquisition of the Zimbabwe international after he passed his medical, although further details surrounding the length of his stay are yet to be revealed.

Prior to his move Hadebe was part of Zimbabwe’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) campaign where he subsequently impressed the Turkish club and saw an offer tabled.

Amakhosi, who are on a rebuilding mission after yet another disappointing and trophyless season agreed to an ‘outright sale’.

Meanwhile, Hadebe spent two seasons at the Naturena who he joined from Zimbabwe top-flight club Chicken Inn.

He joined Chiefs ahead of the 2017/18 season but injuries saw his game time limited as he made just 26 league appearances for the club.

However, with Chiefs troubled with injuries to Erick Mathoho and Lorenzo Gordinho towards the end of 2018/19 season, Hadebe was Ernst Middendorp’s go-to-man at the back.

Hadebe was also an influential part of the Chiefs squad which reached the final of the Nedbank Cup but fell to National First Division (NFD) outfit, TS Galaxy.

Hadebe’s move now also lightens the burden of Chiefs’ foreign dilemma.

The Glamour Boys have signed foreigners Lazarous Kambole, James Kotei and Samir Nurkovic during the current transfer window, but with Leonardo Castro, Daniel Akpeyi and Andriamirado Andrianarimanana already on their books, it now remains to be seen how they will alter their ranks to fit their foreign quota - which allows just five foreign-born players to be registered.
