Victor Mbaoma shifts focus to El Kanemi Warriors game

Akwa United forward Victor Mbaoma is confident his team can consolidate on Sunday's 0-0 draw at Enugu Rangers when they come up against El Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri on Thursday.

The Promise Keepers were forced to a 1-1 draw at home by Plateau United a week ago but they held their nerves to secure their third away draw against the Flying Antelopes in Enugu.

Having failed to win in last four league games, the former Remo Stars man believes they have the quality to secure maximum points against struggling Imama Amapakabo's side in the north-eastern city this mid-week.

"It was a difficult match for us but we are happy that we got a draw against Enugu Rangers," Mbaoma told Goal.

"Though we actually played to win and Rangers really gave us a very good fight, I still feel we deserved more than a draw we are satisfied with the result in Enugu.

"We are already looking forward to the game against El Kanemi Warriors and hoping for the best. It definitely quite a distract and a difficult place to go and get a good result.

"Notwithstanding, we desire a win and I'm confident about our chances of achieving it against El Kanemi in Maiduguri. It will not be easy but I believe we have what it takes to see victory."
