Serbian coach terminates contract with Uganda

Uganda Cranes coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has terminated his contract with Uganda Football Associations (Fufa).

The Serbian is citing non-payment of his (US$64,000) salary and allowances as the reason behind the decision to resign. "My employment contract with Fufa has been terminated.

"We have stretchered human and practical limits with Fufa. I have my values which needed to be respected. I had never even missed any training session with Uganda Cranes. I will remember two dates September 4, 2016, and January 17, 2018 as Special dates for Uganda Cranes and Uganda as a nation.

"Uganda still has a VVIP apartment in my heart. You are still a DNA in my body," 'Micho' told journalists in Kampala on Saturday.

He added, "I have had eight offers, Uganda is the 9th. At the moment, I will not consider national team offers. I will now seek for rehabilitation. Just like some one break ups with some woman whom you have been in love with, I seek rehabilitation."

The Serbian reportedly activated clause 12d of his contract which reportedly spells out that when Fufa fails to pay the coach’s salary for more than three months, then he is free to quit.

His contract with Fufa was due to expire in 2018 but there has been uncertainty over his job for some time now.
