Richarlison called up to first Brazil squad after sparkling start to life at Everton

Richarlison's fantastic start to life as an Everton player has been rewarded with a first call-up to the Brazil national team for the young star. 

The 21-year-old winger arrived at Goodison Park from Watford this summer in a £35 million ($45.1m) deal, and wasted no time in announcing himself to his new fans. 

He smashed both goals against Wolves in Everton's first game of the 2018-19 Premier League, adding another the following week to help down Southampton 2-1 on his home debut. 

And while a red card on Saturday while facing Bournemouth ended that encouraging run, he is set to feature for the Selecao in their upcoming friendly engagements.

"The Brazil coaching staff has called up Everton attacker Richarlison," the Brazilian Football Confederation confirmed in a statement. 

"The player will form part of the team that will take on the United States and El Salvador on September 7 and 11. 

"Richarlison will replace the attacker Pedro. The Fluminense player suffered an injury in his right knee playing against Cruzeiro in the Brazilian Championship, on Saturday."

While Richarlison made 10 appearances for Brazil at Under-20 level, he has never appeared for the Selecao's senior team. 

He will now join a host of new faces in the United States in Tite's youthful squad, which also includes Manchester United duo Fred and Andreas Pereira, new Barcelona signing Arthur and uncapped Flamengo prospect Lucas Paqueta.
