Paul Pogba admits he can disagree with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho at times, but insists he is "living the dream" at Old Trafford.

Questions have been asked of a supposedly strained relationship between an £89 million record signing and superstar manager this season.

Mourinho benched Pogba at one stage, as the Frenchman’s form and best position attracted plenty of scrutiny, with summer transfer talk sparked on the back of a humbling slip out of favour.

The 25-year-old has, however, returned to form of late – landing United’s Player of the Month award for April – and believes heated exchanges with his manager can actually be a positive thing.

Pogba told beIN Sports: “People want to hear about the manager and the player. You see some images of me talking with the coach.

“We can disagree but he is still the manager and I am the player. Sometimes I see things he doesn’t and sometime he sees things I can’t. But it doesn’t mean anything is bad.

“It’s good. He is the coach. He decides and I accept and I respond on the pitch.”

With Pogba happy with his role in the United ranks, he has sought to quash talk of an impending exit by stating his full commitment to a club he always wanted to represent.

He added: “Just to wear the shirt to play in Old Trafford, I was here in the academy and it was a dream to play for the first team.

“I am proud, I know the fans and story of the club. It’s Poggood!”

Pogba’s efforts this season have not been enough to force United into Premier League title contention, with arch-rivals Manchester City having collected the crown in record-breaking fashion.

The Red Devils sit 19 points back on Pep Guardiola’s side heading into the final day, but those at Old Trafford insist the gap between the two clubs is not as wide as it seems.

Pogba added on a stunning 3-2 derby victory at the Etihad Stadium which proved United can compete with the best: “It was all mental – it just came back in the second half. Everyone with the mentality like beasts.

“If you have that mentality all season we would have been fighting and top with Man City for sure.

“It is good when the manager believes in you and the players. When you see and hear that you want to give the best for the manager and the team.”
