Mvuyekure 'worried' for Gendarmerie after heavy Simba defeat

Gendarmerie Head Coach, Mvuyekure Issa believes that they did everything they could to reduce the number of goals they conceded against Simba.

Having trailed 3-0 at half-time, the game slipped away from Gendarmerie as several errors led to a 4-0 defeat that leaves them with no hope in of progressing in the Caf Confederation Cup.

"It's a worrying situation. We have to keep going, whether that's myself or someone else. We have to give everything we have got because if we don't it will be very difficult in the second leg."

Mvuyekure was also critical of the performance, saying: "After conceding so early in the first half we grew into the game and got our confidence up a bit but after conceding the second and the third goal the confidence completely went."

Mvuyekure was worried that his team could have concede up to 9-0 goals.

"We know how good Simba are even though they have not been in international competitions for a long time. But we cannot underestimate them, we did what we could to stop them from scoring more goals."

Simba only need a draw or not to lose by more than a 3-0 margin to qualify for the next round.
