Michael Ibe satisfied with his form for Akwa United

Akwa United’s Michael Ibe is thrilled with his contributions to the Promise Keepers since he rejoined them from the World Cup break.

Personal reasons kept him away from the team after the World Cup break elapsed but the attacker has made his impact felt since he resumed with his teammates for the rest of their preparations for the restart of the season.

The former Abia Warriors striker revealed that he has been involved in two friendly matches against Cofine and Ibom Youth and was the match-winner in both games played last week in Uyo.

“It is always an opportunity to represent my club and I am glad that I am here now after the little delay,” Ibe told Goal.

“I have engaged in a series of practice sessions with my teammates and have played in two friendly matches with them. I was able to score in both matches and they ended 1-0 each. I played against Cofine last Thursday and Ibom Youth on Saturday.

“We have faced them before and could only get a draw in both games but this time around with the help of my teammates I was able to score in both matches and we beat them. I am gradually regaining my match fitness and before you know it I will be fine again.

“I just want to help my team. I don’t want to think or dwell on the past. I am put all that transpired behind me. I am fine now.”
