Lobi Stars step up the chase for Go Round duo

Lobi Stars have stepped up their chase for Go Round's Stanley Worlu and Chile Azu whom reports claim have been impressing the technical crew of the Pride of Benue at their Ijebu Ode camp.

Worlu was outstanding for Go Round in his debut season in the top-flight while Azu was impeccable in the heart of the defence for the Omoku side and both are making a quantum leap with their aspiration to team up with the Caf Champions League campaigner.

A source in the camp of the Makurdi side confirmed their presence among the players with Lobi Stars and that they have been registered for Africa’s club lucrative competition with the league reigning champions while still having negotiations with their club.

The source who wished to remain anonymous stressed that the Pride of Benue are taking their participation in the Caf Champions League and that they have penciled down about 10 new players while they have also released almost similar number to free up the wage bill of the club ahead of their arrival.

“I know that Stanley (Worlu) and Chile (Azu) have been training with Lobi Stars for quite some time now and they have been trying their best to impress the coach Solomon Ogbeide led technical crew,” the source told Goal.

“They are in the plans of the Lobi coaches and I was told they have been registered for their Caf Champions League campaign. They are also having discussions with their club, Go Round and as things are they are primed for a switch to Lobi Stars.

"The boys have shown that they have hearts of lion with the way they have comported themselves in camp.”

Lobi will represent Nigeria in the Caf Champions League and they have been paired against Cameroonian side, UMS de Loum in the preliminary round fixture with the first leg fixed for  Yaounde on November 27 or 28 while the return leg takes place in Makurdi a week later.
