Kano Pillars will maintain tempo against Wikki Tourists, says Gyang

Amos Gyang says Kano Pillars must maintain their tempo when they face Wikki Tourists at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Wednesday.

Following a 3-1 home triumph over Enyimba, Kadiri Ikhana's men will welcome struggling Baba Ganaru's side who suffered a narrow 1-0 loss against Sunshine Stars.

Despite pundits predicting an express victory for Pillars, the former Giwa FC man insists the contest will be tough owing to the familiarity between both sides.

"We are really getting along with ourselves and used to each other," Gyang told Goal.

"The new players are already blending up quickly with the old players. And that was responsible for our victory against Enyimba.

"We want to keep improving in every match and hope we maintain the tempo against Wikki Tourists. We need to win the match.

"Wikki are doing badly now seeing their form but I still think it will still going to be a tough game for us.

"I think it is a local derby because they know us in and out and we do too. Most of the players in Wikki have once been at Pillars before, same also with their players now playing for us now."
