ISL 2017-18: Delhi Dynamos’ Miguel Portugal - Our problem is in our minds

Delhi Dynamos could salvage a point against Chennaiyin FC at the Marina Area on Sunday evening in a game which ended 2-2.

Miguel Portugal had assured after their defeat in Mumbai that they wouldn’t lose any more games and his prophecy came true in Chennai.

“Yes,I’m happy with the result because today, we scored two goals and I'm very happy. But we shipped two goals also and they capitalized on the set-piece. But I'm happy that we have got a point,” said the former Racing Santander coach.

The referee blew his final whistle just when Delhi had a goal scoring opportunity and could have scored their third of the evening.

“In Bengaluru, we received a goal after the time ended. But I don't have a problem with that,” he mentioned.

He explained why Kalu Uche started on the bench but was quick to state that the former Espanyol striker made a difference.

“Uche had been injured. Ngaihte, Chhangte and Nandha had good mobility. But I thought we needed Uche's strength in the final 30 minutes.

“Our problem is in our minds. I asked my players to do man-to-man marking. But we made some mistakes and Jeje scored the goal (first goal),” he pointed.

Delhi travel back to the capital where they shall play host to Kerala Blasters on January 10th.
