'Griezmann loves life at Atletico' - Cerezo determined not to sell Man Utd target

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has revealed that French forward Antoine Griezmann loves life at the club.

The 25-year-old is Manchester United's top target for the summer, with Jose Mourinho's side set to offer €80 million (£65m) for the Ballon d'Or finalist.

Despite the interest from the Red Devils, Cerezo believes Griezmann is enjoying playing for Atletico Madrid, and is determined to keep him at Vicente Calderon.

"Every time I see Antoine I give him a hug," Cerezo told COPE. "Antoine is a fantastic player and loves life at Atletico."

Griezmann is under contract until 2021, having signed a new deal in June containing a €100m release clause to ward off interest from other clubs.

Cerezo has repeatedly indicated his desire to keep the Frenchman at the club, recently telling reporters "I don't know what Manchester United's interest is. But Griezmann will be at Atletico for a long time."

Griezmann's image adviser Sebastien Bellencontre also weighed in on the claims, telling So Foot that he approved of the move.

“When I read articles on a hypothetical transfer to Manchester United, I have to say this would be the ideal scenario in marketing,” Bellencontre said.

“He would play for the same club as Beckham, his idol, with the same legendary No. 7 on the back."

Griezmann has eight La Liga goals in 20 games so far this season, with Atletico seven points off leaders Real Madrid.
