Ethiopia name final 22-man squad to face Ghana

Ethiopia coach Ashenafi Bekele has announced a final 22-man squad for their game against Ghana in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The Eastern-African country is expected to arrive in Accra, Ghana on Thursday before they board a thirty-minute flight to Kumasi to prepare for the game.

Salahdin Said, who is the captain of the side along with Shemeles Bekele, made it out of the 30-man provisional squad revealed last month.

Debutant Abdurahman Mubarak also made the final squad but other new faces like Ame Mohammed and right-back Awet Gebremikael were dropped after failing to impress.

 However, Ethiopia Coffees trio of Gatoch Panom, Ahmed Reshid, Abdulkerim Mohammed as well as Salahdin Said, Getaneh Kebede were able to make the cut.

The team is expected to have their first training session at Jackson Park inside Kwame Nkrumah University in Kumasi on Friday before they hold their final session at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium a day later.
