Wafa coach Patron praises players after historic victory

Wafa deputy coach Akakpo Patron says his charges were better than Wa All Stars on Sunday and deserved the 4-1 victory in matchday three outstanding game at the Malik Jabir Sports Stadium.

Richard Danso scored a brace for the visitors before Daniel Lomotey and Majeed Ashimeru added another while Saddick Alhassan got the consolation for the hosts.

The victory was Wafa's first away win in 27 attempts and All Stars' first home defeat after 20 games.

“We overpowered Wa All Stars with all due respect to them. We were better than them. The players were good and deserved the win,” Patron told Sports Crusader.

“Coming here to score four goals must be historic and one of those days when things work perfectly for your side. We out muscled them but some of these things happen in football once a while.

“All Stars are not a strong side like they were last season, when they won the league title. So we were not surprised at a point with the margin of the scoreline,” he added.

Wafa travel to Bechem next weekend while All Stars will hope to return to winning ways with a trip to Dormaa Ahenkro to face table toppers Aduana Stars.
