Super Eagles will be ready for Benin Republic, vows Salisu Yusuf

Nigeria B coach Salisu Yusuf is confident his side will be ready for the first leg, second round of the African Nations Championship qualifier against Benin Republic.

Yusuf supervised 25 players in the opening training at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Tuesday morning and disclosed that they will undergo intensive training in next three days before releasing the players to their respective clubs for Sunday's topflight matches.

"It was great. We really appreciate the traces the players have shown," Yusuf told media.

"The players have shown a lot of commitment arriving in the camp quickly. We've started our training today [Tuesday] to help them recover from the long journey and matches played in the last 48 hours.

"We are hoping to train hard in the next three days. But we are definitely going to release them to their respective clubs for Sunday’s games. We still have two weeks before the first match.

"So, we are going to work hard on them because what they do in their clubs are different from here. For them to grab our ideas in camp, we will need three days in training. I'm confident they will grab and ready for the match.''
