Gomora United Overview

What happened?

The former Argentina talisman Angel Di Maria quickly reached out to his compatriots to offer comfort after Lionel Scaloni's men suffered a painful extra-time defeat. Writing on social media, the legendary winger fiercely defended the squad's incredible legacy and insisted that a single match would never diminish their standing as icons of the nation.

Argentine football has been shaken by a major disciplinary ruling after Estudiantes de La Plata refused to perform a guard of honour for Angel Di Maria’s Rosario Central. The Argentine Football Association (AFA) responded with sweeping sanctions, including a six-month suspension for club president Juan Sebastian Veron and bans for all 11 players involved, intensifying tensions around a controversial title awarded to Rosario.

After Boca Juniors’ 1-1 draw against Rosario Central, midfielder Rodrigo Battaglia highlighted the great moment his teammate Leandro Paredes is experiencing. The World Cup champion, who decided this year to leave European football for Boca, has previously played for PSG, Juventus and Roma. Since his arrival, Paredes now shares the midfield with Battaglia.
