Sunderland v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League

Romero blasted for 'terrible' decision to skip Spurs relegation decider

Tottenham captain Cristian Romero has been criticised after opting to fly back to Argentina rather than support his team-mates in their final-day Premier League relegation decider against Everton. The injured defender is travelling home to watch his boyhood club, Belgrano, in a historic championship decider against River Plate on Sunday instead of sitting in the stands at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The young striker's rather relaxed open goal effort was so tame it allowed Lucas Acosta to scramble back and claw the ball off the line
