Matchday six of the 2025 Apertura kicks off with Santos Laguna making the trip to Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez to take on FC Juárez.
Los Bravos finally broke through last weekend, notching their first win of the new campaign, while Santos arrive in disarray after dropping six of their last seven games in all competitions. The two sides last crossed paths in the 2025 Clausura, where Juárez ground out a gritty 1-0 triumph—proof they know how to frustrate the Verdiblancos when it matters most.

Team news & squads
FC Juarez team news
On Saturday night, Martín Varini's FC Juárez delivered one of the shocks of the Apertura, storming into Estadio Akron and walking out with a famous 2-1 win over Chivas Guadalajara. It was just their second triumph in 17 head-to-head meetings, a result that spoke volumes about their growing resilience. The difference-maker was undoubtedly goalkeeper Sebastián Jurado Roca, who stood tall with four key saves to deny Chivas and seal all three points.
Up front, Oscar Estupinan finally opened his account for the season, converting from the penalty spot to put Los Bravos ahead. The Colombian striker will be eager to rediscover the prolific form he showed in the 2024 Apertura, when he struck seven goals in just over 1,000 minutes of play.
Santos Laguna team news
On the other side, Francisco's Santos Laguna remain stuck in a rut. The Verdiblancos have been their own worst enemy, repeatedly squandering opportunities to pick up results. Their latest setback came against Cruz Azul, where they looked set to earn a draw before switching off late and conceding in the 84th minute—slumping to a third Liga MX defeat in five outings.
One positive for Santos has been the resurgence of Cristian Dajome. After failing to score in 12 appearances during the Clausura, the Colombian has already notched three goals in eight Apertura matches, finally showing signs of adjusting to the league. Having previously tallied 24 goals across stints with D.C. United and the Vancouver Whitecaps in MLS, Santos will be hoping he continues to shoulder the attacking load as they try to drag themselves out of their early-season slump.
