WATCH: Can Liverpool contain Lukaku? The Goal Pressure Index Week Nine

The Premier League returns this weekend and so too does the pressure to get the right results at both the top and the bottom of the table.

The weekend kicks off with one of the most intense fixtures in the competition, as Liverpool host Everton in the Merseyside derby.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will be slight favourites in a match key to the race for Champions League places, but they will have to try and contain a rampant Romelu Lukaku who, with nine goals in his last six games, is the big mover on the Pressure Index table.

In the last round of fixtures, Lukaku’s double in a 4-0 win over Hull City saw him join Chelsea’s Willian at the top of the Goal Pressure Index, presented by Sure and powered by Opta data, which provides the first ever system to measure and rate a team and player’s performance under pressure.

The Goal Pressure Index uses more than 750,000 data points as well as factors including league position, point in the season and the opposition to calculate a rating out of 100 for every Premier League player every week.

On Sunday the big game comes at the Emirates where Arsenal take on Manchester City and will be hoping to end their recent slump.

This is only the second time in Arsene Wenger’s 21-year reign that the Gunners have been outside the top four in April, so the pressure is on as they hope to qualify for the Champions League for the 20th year in a row.
