Brazil U20 and Morocco U20 square off in a crucial Group C clash at the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup, with both sides looking to build on positive starts to the tournament.
This marks their first meeting on this stage since 2005, when Brazil edged a 2-1 victory. The five-time champions opened their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Mexico U20, a reminder that the road to a potential sixth crown, Brazil's last coming back in 2011, will not be straightforward.
Morocco, on the other hand, made headlines on matchday one with a 2-0 win over Spain, a former tournament winner. That result not only underlined their growing reputation but also set the tone for what could be another giant-killing performance.
While the North Africans have won just three of their last 10 fixtures, they've also proven difficult to beat, with only two losses in that span, against USA U20 and continental champions South Africa. With momentum now on their side, Morocco will aim to push Brazil all the way in Santiago.

Team news & squads
Brazil U20 team news
Brazil head into their second group outing with some notable gaps in the squad, and the absences aren’t just down to coaching choices or fitness calls. Endrick is still working his way back after four months on the sidelines, while Estevao has only just taken his first steps at Chelsea and wasn’t available for selection.
Even so, the Selecao have pieced together a side blending flair with physicality, anchored by talents like Deivid Washington (Chelsea), Luigi (Palmeiras), Wesley (Al-Nassr), and Pedrinho (Zenit St. Petersburg).
After an eye-catching 2-2 stalemate with Mexico in their opener, this matchup with Morocco looms as a proper litmus test for Brazil’s youthful core as they aim to steady their campaign and remind everyone why they remain perennial contenders.
Morocco U20 team news
Morocco U20 head coach Mohamed Ouahbi has urged his squad to remain grounded and focused following their impressive 2-0 triumph over Spain in the opening match of the U20 World Cup in Chile.
Over the weekend, the Moroccan Football Federation confirmed that Ilyass Mahssoub has been called up to the squad, stepping in for Hamza Koutoune. Mahssoub, who represents Union Sportive Musulmane d'Oujda, joins the team after FC Annecy, Koutoune's club in France, declined to release him for international duty with the Atlas Cubs.
