Real Madrid v Getafe Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Tuesday evening saw Real Madrid slump to their fifth La Liga defeat of the season at Espanyol, with Los Blancos now firmly focusing on next week's Champions League last 16 second leg clash at Paris Saint-Germain.

Before that, though, Getafe visit the Bernabeu and Los Azulones could provide a stern test for Zinedine Zidane's side.

Team news

Given the season-defining clash in Paris on Tuesday night, Zinedine Zidane is likely to pick an eleven with the Champions League in mind.

There could be some minutes for Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, who have been out injured for the last couple of weeks. Cristiano Ronaldo was rested midweek and is likely to feature from the start against one of his favourite opponents.

For Getafe, Markel Bergara remains a long term absentee.

Visitors to keep things tight at Bernabeu

Getafe's success this season has been built upon a rigid defence, which has conceded considerably fewer goals than Real Madrid.

Indeed, Pepe Bordalas' men have the third best defensive record in the top flight (behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid) and have kept four clean sheets in their last five games.

Madrid's three home league games in 2018 have been high-scoring affairs but if there is any team that can put the breaks on them scoring, it is this physical and well organized Getafe side.

Preview and predictions

Under 3.5 goals is priced at 4/5 (1.80) and looks a solid selection as when Getafe went to the Camp Nou a couple of weeks ago, they held Barcelona to a 0-0 draw - with the Blaugrana not managing a shot on goal in the first half.

The side from the south of Madrid can do the same at the Bernabeu, where Real Madrid are likely to be more focused on their upcoming European clash.
