Preston show interest in USMNT's Morris


Preston have showed an interest in U.S. men's national team winger Jordan Morris, reports

The English club reached out via intermediaries before realising that Morris would be far out of the club's price range.

As a result, the Seattle Sounders star, who turned down interest from the Bundesliga earlier in his career, is unlikely to move to England any time soon.

Fofana has Leicester medical


Wesley Fofana has had his medical with Leicester, reports RMC Sport.

The 19-year-old Saint-Etienne defender is set to join the Foxes on a five-year deal.

Fofana made 24 appearances for the French club last season and has already made three this campaign.

Everton make Godfrey bid


Everton have made a bid for Norwich's Ben Godfrey as the club looks to add a defender.

The Toffees had previously been linked to Fikayo Tomori but have now turned attention towards the Norwich star.

Spurs closing in on Benfica star


Tottenham are trying to seal a deal for Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius, according to Football.London.

The 25-year-old forward has been Jose Mourinho's No. 1 target after scoring 24 goals and providing 13 assists last season.

Following Benfica's Champions League exit, Spurs are hoping to seal a loan with an option to buy for £36.3m ($47m). 

Aulas: Three big clubs are after Aouar


Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has said that "three big clubs" are chasing midfielder Houssem Aouar.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked to Arsenal in recent weeks, with Mikel Arteta said to be an admirer of the 22-year-old star.

But it appears the Gunners have competition for Aouar, who has also been linked to Juventus. 

Bayern keen on Kramaric


Bayern Munich are looking to sign Hoffenheim striker Andrej Kramaric, reports Bild

The 29-year-old scored a pair of goals against Bayern at the weekend as Hoffenheim defeated the defending champions 4-1.

Now Bayern are hoping to bring the Croatian on board to help back up star forward Robert Lewandowski.

Celtic eye move for Sessegnon


Celtic are interested in a move for Tottenham full-back Ryan Sessegnon, according to Sky Sports. 

The 20-year-old has failed to find regular minutes with Spurs since joining from Fulham last summer. 

With other Premier League clubs interested, it's unclear if Celtic will have the financial muscle to land Sessegnon.

Lyon accept €27m Hertha bid for Reine-Adelaide


Hertha Berlin have seen a €27 million (£25m/$32m) bid for Lyon attacker Jeff Reine-Adelaide accepted by the Ligue 1 side, Bild reports.

The 22-year-old has recently voiced his frustration with his playing time in Lyon after recovering from a serious knee injury. 

The former Arsenal player still must agree personal terms with the Bundesliga outfit.

Lyon sign €20m Paqueta from AC MIlan


Lyon have signed Lucas Paqueta from AC MIlan for a fee of €20 million (£18m/$23m).

The 23-year-old joins the Ligue 1 side on a five-year deal after spending a season and a half with Milan.

Dynamo near deal for Argentinian winger


The Houston Dynamo are set to sign a replacement for Alberth Elis, who was recently sold to Portuguese side Boavista.

According to Mundo D in Argentina,  Mateo Bajamich is set to join the Dynamo second-division side Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba.

Bojamich is set to sign a four-year contract, having previously drawn interest from Sunderland after scoring nine goals in 29 matches.

Coady signs new Wolves deal


Conor Coady has signed a new contract with Wolves, the Premier League club announced on Wednesday.

The defender will remain with the club through 2025, having joined in 2015.

Coady, who came up through Liverpool's academy, has made 239 appearances for Wolves while earning his first England cap in September.

Naldo named to Schalke staff


Former Schalke defender Naldo has been named to Manuel Baum's coaching staff, the club confirmed.

Naldo played for the club from 2016-19, making 80 appearances for the club.

The former defender, who also played for Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga, most recently played for Monaco before having his contract terminated in January.

Monchi backs Reguilon to shine at Spurs


Sergio Reguilon is a "great player" that will shine now that he is at Tottenham, according to Sevilla sporting director Monchi.

The Spanish defender spent last season on loan with Sevilla, and, having seen his development over that season, Monchi believes Reguilon will be a hit in London.

Valencia making push to sign centre-back


Valencia are pushing to add a centre-back before the end of the transfer window with Lyon star Joachim Andersen among their targets, according to AS.

Lyon would be willing to send Andersen away on loan as the club would like to see the defender get consistent playing time this season.

In addition, Valencia are eyeing Juventus' Daniele Rugani and Diogo Leite of Porto.

Paperwork has been completed for Andreas Pereira's move to Lazio, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The midfielder will join the Italian side on loan with an option to buy for €27m (£24.5m/$31.7m)

Pereira made 40 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United last season. 

Red Bulls make formal approach to hire Barnsley boss


The New York Red Bulls have made a formal approach to hire Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber, reports BBC Sheffield.

Following the dismissal of Chris Armas, the Red Bulls are searching for a new coach as the club remains in the MLS playoff picture.

Discussions are ongoing, with prior reports saying that the manager has already agreed to a three-year deal to join the club.

Schalke hire Baum as new coach


Schalke have appointed Manuel Baum as the club's new head coach, the German side announced on Wednesday.

Baum comes to Schalke having most recently managed Germany's U18s and U20s after a stint with Augsburg.

He replaced David Wagner, who was dismissed after failing to win either of the club's first two games as Schalke lost by a combined 10 goals.

Monchi can't understand why Man Utd don't have sporting director


Sevilla sporting director Monchi says he does not understand why Manchester United, or any club, operate without a sporting director in charge of transfers.

Man Utd's transfer dealings, among other things, are handled by Ed Woodward, and Monchi says that he believes modern clubs need someone specifically in charge of signings.

Lookman to join Fulham on loan


Ademola Lookman will spend the season on loan with Fulham, RB Leipzig announced on Wednesday.

Lookman joined RB Leipzig in 2018, initially on loan from Everton before making the move permanent a year later.

He made 13 appearances in all competitions for the German club, but failed to score after firing five goals in 11 matches the season prior. 

Schalke and Frankfurt swap goalkeepers


Schalke and Eintracht Frankfurt have swapped goalkeepers, the two clubs announced.

Frederik Ronnow will join Schalke until the end of the season while Markus Schubert will head the other way on loan.

Schubert's contract with Schalke runs until June 2023.

Arsenal dismiss Maitland-Niles links amid Man Utd rumours


Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is keen to put his summer transfer stand-off with the club behind him, while assuring fans he never meant to cause the Blaugrana any harm.

Last month the Argentine told Barcelona of his intention to activate a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave on a free transfer.

Barcelona, though, hit back, saying that the window to activate the clause had closed because the request needed to be made in June, not in August, when the coronavirus-extended season eventually ended.

'Appalling!' - Neville tells Man Utd to urgently sign three players


Gary Neville has voiced his frustration at Manchester United over a lack of transfers and told them to urgently sign three players.

United have been among the lowest spenders in the Premier League this summer, with Donny van de Beek's £35 million ($45m) move to Old Trafford from Ajax the only piece of business the club have been able to get over the line to date.

Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho has long been mooted as the Red Devils' primary transfer target, but Goal has reported that they have yet to submit a formal bid for the winger , with the German outfit thought to be holding out for a €120m (£108m/$142m) fee.

Paris Saint-Germain have set their sights on Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa - according to AS.

The 31-year-old could be available on a free transfer after admitting that he would be open to a move away from Wanda Metropolitano last weekend.

PSG are now weighing up a swoop for Costa, but will first have to sell one of their current first-team stars to free up funds for the deal.

Villarreal looking to seal Foyth deal


Villarreal are looking to seal a deal for Tottenham defender Juan Foyth - according to El Periodico Mediterraneo.

The Spanish giants want to sign the 22-year-old on loan until the end of the season, and are open to including a buy-option in any final agreement.

Spurs are eager to send Foyth out on loan so he can take in regular minutes, with Valencia also interested in his services.

Bavarians may make loan offer

Bayern Munich are weighing up a move for Atletico Madrid winger Thomas Lemar, according to Sport Bild.

As revealed by Goal on September 19, two Premier League clubs were interested in signing the Frenchman although it could be that he makes the move to the Bundesliga champions.

Should the transfer go through, Lemar would join on a season-long loan deal as he looks to resurrect his career following a disappointing spell at Atleti.

Boca Juniors have identified ex-Newcastle striker Salomon Rondon - according to ESPN.

The Argentine club could make a move for the 31-year-old, who currently plies his trade in the Chinese Super League with Dalian Yifang, before the transfer window closes.

Rondon spent one season on loan at Newcastle while he was on West Brom's books, and recently admitted he'd be open to rejoining the Magpies.

Austria international Guido Burgstaller has completed a move from Schalke to St Pauli for an undisclosed fee.

Burgstaller spent three season with Schalke, including featuring for the side who finished as Bundesliga runners-up in 2018, and made 95 league appearances, scoring 24 goals.

“Guido Burgstaller gave 100 per cent every time he played for Schalke. In terms of commitment and willingness, Guido remains a real role model,” said Jochen Schneider, Schalke's head of sport and communication.

“He likely would have seen limited playing time this season, which is why we arrived at a mutual decision, together with Guido, that will see him join St. Pauli. We thank him for his efforts at Schalke and wish him all the best for the future, both on and off the pitch.”

Douglas Costa 'turns down Wolves'


Juventus forward Douglas Costa has refused a transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Serie A champions are aiming to finance a move for Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa, but need to get Costa off their books first and are actively offering him to clubs around Europe.

Reports in Italy claim a deal was agreed with the Premier League club, but Costa has turned down Wolves and for now remains in Turin.

Manchester United 'want Maitland-Niles'


The Red Devils are reportedly keen on a remarkable swoop for the Arsenal midfielder

Manchester United are ready to raid Premier League rivals Arsenal for England international midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles, according to German outlet Sport1.

They report the transfer is "80% done", and that the fee will be £20 million (€22m/$26m) plus add-ons.

Maitland-Niles, who made his international debut against Denmark in the UEFA Nations League earlier this month, has been linked with several clubs this summer, including Wolves.

Nainggolan 'close to Cagliari return'


The Belgian midfielder is reportedly set for a €12 million switch from Inter

Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan is set for a €12 million switch to Cagliari (£11m/$14m), according to Sky Sport in Italy.

The Belgium international spent last season on loan at the Sardinia club and will reportedly make the move permanent this summer after being left out of Inter's Serie A meeting with Benevento.

Sky Sport also report that two Cagliari players could move the other way as part of the deal.

West Ham have submitted a €25 million (£23m/$29m) opening bid for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic - according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

La Viola are considering the offer, but will likely hold out for a higher fee before sanctioning the departure of a prized asset.

Milenkovic has appeared in both of Fiorentina's games at the start of the new Serie A season, including a thrilling 4-3 defeat to Inter on Saturday.

Bologna full-back Takehiro Tomiyasu is the subject of interest from Milan - according to Calcio Mercato.

Stefano Pioli is hoping to bolster his defensive ranks before the transfer window closes, and the 21-year-old could be available for around €25 million (£23m/$29m).

Tomiyasu featured for Bologna during a 2-0 defeat against Milan on September 21, which they followed up with a 4-1 home win over Parma on Monday.

Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi is eager to join Bayern Munich - according to Sky Germany.

West Brom are considering a swoop for Leicester striker Islam Slimani - according to The Telegraph.

The Baggies would like to sign the 32-year-old on a season-long loan to boost their Premier League survival bid.
