Revolution decline options on six players


The New England Revolution have declined options on six players while exercising options on 15 others, the club announced on Monday.

Defender Claude Dielna, midfielder Guillermo Hauché, forward Femi Hollinger-Janzen, midfielder Cristhian Machado, defender Nicolas Samayoa, and midfielder/defender Mark Segbers have seen their options declined following the conclusion of the MLS season.

Chris Tierney and Juan Agudelo, meanwhile, are also out of contract starting on Dec. 31 with the former eligible for MLS free agency.

'Monster' Van Dijk could have ended up at West Brom - Fletcher


Darren Fletcher says he wanted West Brom to move for Virgil van Dijk back in 2015.

The Dutch defender is now recognized as one of the Premier League's best after joining Liverpool from Southampton in January, but Fletcher says Van Dijk's career could have taken him to West Brom several years back.

Ajax are ready to make a move for Boca Juniors ace Lisandro Magallan in January, report De Telegraaf.

The Dutch outfit were heavily linked with signing Magallan in the summer.

And recent speculation claims Ajax are looking to sign the defender for around €9 million in the winter market.

Van Beek inks new Feyenoord contract


Sven van Beek has signed a new contract with Feyenoord.

The club revealed the news on Monday, with the defender now tied to the Dutch giants until 2021.

Van Beek's previous deal was set to expire in 2019.

Henry not ready to retire from playing


Former Premier League midfielder Karl Henry is in talks with Northampton over a short-term deal, according to Sky Sports.

The ex-Wolves man, who also represented QPR, Stoke, has been out of contract since leaving Bolton at the end of last season.

Henry is now 35 years old.

PSG appeal to CAS to stop UEFA's FFP probe


Paris Saint-Germain have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to stop UEFA re-examining its decision to clear the club of breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

UEFA opted to review the investigation in July, having cleared the Ligue 1 champions of contravening FFP a month earlier.

PSG, who in 2017 signed Neymar for a world-record €222 million and Kylian Mbappe on an initial loan before making the deal permanent for €180m, raised funds of around €50m through transfers at the request of UEFA to avoid sanctions for the 2015, 2016 and 2017 financial years.

Martin joins Mainz on permanent deal


Aaron Martin has signed a contract with Mainz until 2023.

The defender was on loan at the Bundesliga side from Espanyol, but triggered a permanent move after making his 10th appearance of the season.

Diame set for new Newcastle contract


Mohamed Diame is in line for a new contract at Newcastle United, report the Chronicle.

The midfielder's current deal is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

However, the report claims Diame is on course to trigger an extension by reaching a certain amount of games this season.

Chelsea target Felix signs Benfica deal


Chelsea-linked Joao Felix has signed a contract extension at Benfica.

The midfielder has caught the eye since emerging from the Portuguese giants' renowned youth academy.

He has since been linked with a switch to Premier League high-flyers Chelsea, but Felix has put pen to paper on a deal which ties him to Benfica until 2023.

The ex-Arsenal boss is set to return to management

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is close to finalising a deal to take over at AC Milan, France Football reports.

It is said that the Frenchman has been negotiating with the Serie A side for some weeks and talks have almost reached a conclusion.

The report claims Wenger will replace Gennaro Gattuso as the club's coach, while he will also have additional responsibilities in the inner workings of the club alongside sporting director Leonardo.

No Prem snub regrets for Bailey


Bayer Leverkusen starlet Leon Bailey has said that he has no regrets over snubbing a move to the Premier League in recent transfer windows.

Manchester United, City, Chelsea, Liverpool are all admirers of the 21-year-old, but the youngster is keen to keep his feet on the ground, progress in Germany and make a move when the time is right for his career.

Napoli striker Dries Mertens has left the door open for a future move to the Chinese Super League.

Mertens, now 31, understands that his time at the top is nearing its end but feels that he may have one non-Europe adventure left in him.

The Belgian revealed that he has spoken to countrymen Axel Witsel and Yannick Carrasco about the CSL and received positive reviews.

Everton weigh up Wan-Bissaka move


Everton are considering a move for Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka after his impressive start to the Premier League campaign, according to the Daily Mail.

The Toffees reportedly see the defender as a long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman and may look to bed the new signing in alongside his senior counterpart as they have done with Lucas Digne and Leighton Baines on the opposite flank. 

However, Palace are not thought to be keen to sell, and Everton may be forced to include promising winger Ademola Lookman as part of any potential deal.

Burnley keen on Rodriguez reunion


Burnley remain interested in West Brom forward Jay Rodriguez after failing to land him in the summer, according to Sky Sports News.

Sean Dyche is reportedly keen to bring the Burnley-born striker - who has scored eight goals in 15 appearances so far this season - back to the club where he started his career this January.

The Clarets were apparently considering a move for Brentford's Ollie Watkins, but have been priced out of a move after the Championship outfit slapped a price tag upwards of £20m on the forward.

Inter brace for Skriniar bids


Internazionale have made significant progress in their contract extension talks with central defender Milan Skriniar, and are prepared to resist any bids that come their way, according to FcInterNews.

It appears that an agreement is imminent between club and player, but that is not likely to deter any potential suitors from pursuing the highly-rated defender's signature, with Manchester United strongly linked, as well as Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona.

However, it seems the Italian outfit value Skriniar somewhere between €80m and €100m, a price tag they hope will be enough to retain their prized asset.

Di Maria not joining Ronaldo at Juve


Angel Di Maria will not be joining former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus, despite the Portuguese's request for him to do so, according to Donbalon.

Ronaldo was reportedly keen on a reunion with the Argentine in Turin, but the PSG winger recently penned a contract extension to put an end to those hopes.

Di Maria also spoke of a desire to retire in his native country with Rosario Central when he eventually leaves Paris, stating he would not play for another European club.

AC Milan target January move for Bailly


AC Milan are planning to bolster their defensive options with the signing of Manchester United outcast Eric Bailly, according to ESPN.

The Ivory Coast centre-back was substituted just 19 minutes into United's 3-2 victory over Newcastle last month and has not featured since.

Manchester United are reportedly seeking defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window and Bailly is among those who could be replaced.

Verratti sees PSG contract talks break down


Marco Verratti has seen discussions regarding a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain break down, claims Calciomercato.

That news has alerted the likes of Juventus, Napoli and Inter to the potential availability of the Italy international midfielder.

Real Madrid are ready to offer Marco Asensio as a makeweight in any deal for Chelsea forward Eden Hazard, according to Don Balon.

Real president Florentino Perez is desperate to land the Belgian to finally replace Cristiano Ronaldo and is prepared offer Asensio to help get the deal done.

However, any deal is unlikely to be completed in January as Real interim coach Santiago Solari is a fan of Asensio and is reluctant to see him leave mid-season.

Sporting identify Peseiro replacement


Sporting Lisbon have identifed Al-Jazira boss Marcel Keizer as their prime candidate to suceed Jose Peseiro as head coach, according to Voetbal International.

Peseiro was sacked on Thursday just four months into his second stint at the Estadio Jose Alvalade following a Portguese League Cup defeat to Estoril.

Keizer is keen to talk to Sporting about the vacant managerial position, but Al-Jazira are reluctant to lose the Dutchman who only signed a two-year deal with the club in June.


West Ham keen on Gervinho


West Ham are considering a January move for Parma striker Gervinho, according to Calciomercato.

However, it is believed the Italian club have no intention of selling the former Arsenal frontman.

The 31-year-old only joined Parma in the summer on a three-year deal after terminating his contract at Chinese side Hebei China Fortune early.
