Latest Premier League Winner Odds: Manchester City retain favouritism as Liverpool draw with Manchester United

Liverpool went back to the top of the Premier League courtesy of a draw against Manchester United on Sunday.

Five of the last seven meetings in all competitions between the pair have ended all square but the Reds may feel like it was an opportunity missed in terms of their title ambitions.

United were forced into three first half substitutions but the visitors were unable to find an opening, failing to score for the second consecutive game following their 0-0 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

bet365 now make Jurgen Klopp's side 13/8 (2.63) to win the Premier League despite their numerical advantage over Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola's side - who won the Carabao Cup on Sunday - sit a point behind Liverpool but their superior goal difference could be an important factor during run in. With 11 games left the reigning champions are 8/15 (1.53) to defend their crown.

Tottenham's defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor has all-but ruled them out of a late title charge and Spurs have since drifted to 66/1 (67.0) in the outright winner market.

Wednesday night sees both leading contenders back in action as Klopp's side entertain Watford and West Ham head to the Etihad Stadium. As expected the pair are odds-on favourites with Liverpool available at 1/4 (1.25) and City priced currently the shortest price on the midweek coupon at just 1/6 (1.17).

Injuries could play a significant part in the destination of the title. Roberto Firmino was seen leaving Old Trafford on crutches, but the severity of the forward's ankle complaint is unknown. Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez also remain side-lined leaving the Reds' boss short on defensive options.

The favourites are struggling at the back too with Aymeric Laporte out of action after Sunday's game. Vicent Kompany and Nicholas Otamendi are now the only two senior centre backs available for the visit of the Hammers.

Fernandinho's injury at Wembley will be a serious concern to City backers. The Brazil international has been crucial to their impressive form since Guardiola’s arrival and his absence for a matter of weeks – although the exact length of his absence is yet to be determined - will pose a headache for the Spaniard.

In Premier League games under Guardiola, City have lost four of their 14 matches when Fernandinho hasn't started and have a 64.3% win percentage compared to just eight losses in 89 top-flight clashes and a 75.3% win rate when the 33-year-old has been in the starting line-up.

With those stats in mind, there could be plenty of twists and turns left in the title race as the season enters the final stages.
