Latest Premier League Betting Odds: Manchester United 3/1 for a top four finish after another win

Manchester United extended their winning win to four games under interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Newcastle held their own in the first half at Old Trafford but goals from Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford after the break secured another three points for the hosts.

That win combined with Chelsea's 0-0 draw against Southampton has seen United cut to 3/1 (4.0) with bet365 for a top four finish in the Premier League this term. That same outcome was a 14/1 (15.0) chance with the online bookmaker on the day of Jose Mourinho's departure.

While Solskjaer's side have been favourites in each of their four matches under the Norwegian to date, the difference in their performance levels compared with Mourinho's final few weeks in charge has been emphatic.

The 45-year-old interim boss is just the second Manchester United manager to win his first four games in charge, the first was Sir Matt Busby in 1946.

United remain in sixth place but have closed the gap on Chelsea to six points after the Blues drew a blank against the Saints at Stamford Bridge.

With Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham all in strong positions to ensure their participation in Europe's premier club competition next term, it's likely to be one place between the remaining three contenders.

Maurizio Sarri's are still in the driving seat to claim the final Champions League spot at 4/11 (1.36) but the Red Devils have now leapfrogged Arsenal in the betting.

Manchester United top four finish odds

The Gunners got the better of Fulham 4-1 on Tuesday and sit just three points behind fourth place but at 10/3 (4.33) bet365 now believe they've slipped behind United in terms of their Champions League qualification prospects.

Liverpool are favourites to win the Premier League at 4/7 (1.57) ahead of Manchester City who sit at 7/4 (2.75). The pair square off at the Etihad on Thursday evening in the final top-flight fixture before the FA Cup takes centre stage this weekend.

City are 21/20 (2.05) to close the gap to three points while Jurgen Klopp's side are available at 5/2 (3.50). Another draw between the two leading title contenders is an industry best quote of 29/10 (3.90) which might appeal given the stalemate in the reverse fixture in October.
