It's time to give strength to the Chapecoense families - Tite

Brazil coach Tite joined thousands of mourners at the Conda Arena Chapeco on Saturday to pay his respects to the 71 people who lost their lives in last week’s tragedy.

Tite expressed his sympathies with all those affected by the disaster last week and this weekend was visibly moved by the emotional scenes during the memorial service.

The Selecao boss was joined by a number of high profile guests, including CONMEBOL president Alejandro Dominguez, FIFA head Gianni Infantino and Brazil’s president Michel Temer.

"I cannot ever remember a moment that was so profoundly moving, with so much sentiment expressed.

“All the people that I have been talking about that have been following you [the press] throughout this period, feeling all the emotion, but now the time has come to offer strength to the families.

"I want, as much as possible, to soften the pain they are suffering. It's the least I can do.”

Last week CONMEBOL confirmed that Chapecoense are to be crowned Copa Sudamericana champions.
