The Republic of Ireland have moved up one place in the latest Fifa ranking and now occupy 29th position.
Martin O'Neill's team have made a steady ascent up the table since securing qualification for Euro 2016 in France last November and the latest news comes as a boost as they prepare to host Switerland and Slovakia on March 25 and 29 respectively.
The Boys in Green now find themselves just ahead of the United States of America, who are 30th, and one behind Northern Ireland, who are 28th, having also moved up one place.
The top 13 remain unchanged, with Ireland's Euro 2016 rivals Belgium hanging on to top spot, with Argentina second and Spain third. Ireland's other Group E opponents, Sweden, have risen one place and now find themselves ranked 34th.
England stay in the top 10 at ninth position, while Wales are unchanged at 17th and Scotland have moved up one place to 45th.
