Betting Tips: Napoli close gap on Juventus in Serie A after dramatic win in Turin

Despite going toe-to-toe with Juventus for the majority of the Serie A season, Napoli’s title challenge seemed to be disappearing without a whimper.

Maurizio Sarri’s side had picked up just 12 points from their last seven games prior to Sunday night, but that all changed when they cut the gap at the top to just one point with a 1-0 win over Juventus.

Kalidou Koulibaly’s 90th minute winner gave the visitors a deserved win and cut their odds to win a first Scudetto since 1990 to just even money (2.0) with dabblebet.

Juventus can be backed at 4/5 (1.80) to lift a seventh straight title, and their favourites tag is hardly a surprise given they hold a one-point advantage at the top of the table and have a superior goal difference.

This season is set to go down to the wire and Napoli’s run-in makes them a more favourable bet. The Partenopei face Fiorentina, Torino, Sampdoria and Crotone and will be confident of taking 12 points against three teams with very little to play for and relegation-threatened Crotone.

You have to go back to March 2015 to find the last time Napoli lost to any of those teams and they have already won 10 points against the quartet this season, with only Fiorentina avoiding defeat.

Of course, Napoli need Juventus to slip up if they are to have any chance of claiming the Scudetto, something which is not out of the question considering the Old Lady’s remaining fixtures.

After a draw at lowly Crotone and Sunday’s loss, things could get even worse for Juve as they travel to Milan on Saturday night to face an Inter side that has lost just one home game all season.

Home games against Bologna and Hellas Verona should be fairly straightforward for Max Allegri’s side, but a trip to AS Roma in their penultimate game could be their undoing.

Indeed, the Giallorossi have beaten Juve at the Stadio Olimpico in each of the last two seasons, although the Turin side will be boosted by the fact that Roma have lost four times there since the turn of the calendar year.
