    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The goal was Aaronson's fifth of the season, but his first in more than a month. His most recent goal had come back on Nov. 2 when he scored in a 3-0 win over Plymouth Argyle. With five goals to his name, Aaronson has now matched his best goalscoring season with any team, with his previous best coming in 2020-21 with Salzburg.

He scored just one goal during his one other full season with Leeds, which came in the Premier League, while he scored just twice in the Bundesliga last season.

Aaronson recently spoke to GOAL about his desire to be seen as more of a runner, as he looks to prove to his critics that he can contribute to goals, either by providing assists or scoring them himself.
