- Arsenal deal for Mosquera on hold
- Valencia holding out for €25m
- 21-year-old keen on move
WHAT HAPPENED?
Arsenal are attempting to get a deal done for Valencia's Mosquera, with personal terms already agreed with the Spain Under-21 international. They have already had a €15 million (£12.9 million/$17.6 million) offer rejected by the La Liga side, who are thought to be holding out for €25 million even though the defender's contract expires next year.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Mosquera is keen on making the move to Arsenal but Plaza Deportiva say Valencia are yet to be presented with an offer they feel suits their valuation. Negotiations are now said to be on hold, with the Spanish club not interested in dealing with low-ball offers for one of their most important players.
DID YOU KNOW?
Arsenal were hit hard by injuries throughout the 2024-25 season, derailing their Premier League title challenge as they finished runners-up behind champions Liverpool. First choice centre-back duo William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes both missed the end of the campaign and a fresh arrival would help bolster Mikel Arteta's options if fitness issues crop up again next term.
