USWNT hit by another injury blow as Tierna Davidson is forced out of Gotham FC’s NWSL clash

A disappointing 2-0 loss to the Washington Spirit wasn't the biggest storyline for the Bats Saturday, rather, it was losing Tierna Davidson to injury. The rock-solid central defender pulled up with a non-contact hamstring injury and was immediately subbed out.

The USWNT have been handed two major scares in less than 24 hours ahead of the Paris Olympic Games this summer. San Diego Wave superstar and U.S. veteran Alex Morgan left their match Friday evening with an ankle injury, and now, Davidson's departure from the Bats' match will only add to their worries.

It's unknown how serious the defender's hamstring injury is, and she's set to be evaluated over the coming days as a result of it.

USWNT star Rose Lavelle has yet to make her Gotham FC debut in 2024, dealing with an injury she sustained after the CONCACAF W Gold Cup in early March.

The U.S. international will remain sidelined until being evaluated by medical staff to determine the severity of her injury. Gotham, meanwhile, are back in action next week against Racing Louisville.
