USMNT striker Josh Sargent scores fourth goal of season as Norwich City defeat Hull City in English Championship

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Sargent later missed a penalty for the Canaries, with his 56th minute attempt hitting the post from the spot.</p><p>Despite the miss, though, the Canaries added two more to their tally late in the second half to secure the victory, walking away with the clean sheet.</p><p>The 24-year-old's first half goal made it three-straight matches for the Canaries with a goal-contribution, and seven total in Sargent's nine appearances for Norwich this season.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Since Jan. 1, 2024, Sargent has scored 16 league goals in the English Championship. That's three more than any other player across the league during that span.</p>

<p>Sargent will depart England in the coming days, returning to the United States for the October training camp with the USMNT. The forward will look to earn his first minutes under head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who takes the touchline for the first time on Oct. 12 against Panama, followed by a clash with Mexico on Oct. 15.</p>
