The north London side spent heavily last summer as they bought Dominic Solanke in a club record deal alongside Archie Gray and Wilson Odobert. Their last set of accounts showed their net transfer debt to be almost £280m ($373m), leaving them in a precarious situation as they plan to strengthen the squad in the transfer window.
Chairman Daniel Levy said when the figures were released: "We cannot spend what we do not have, and we will not compromise the financial stability of this club – indeed, our off-pitch revenues have significantly supplemented the lower football revenues this year, testament to our diversified income strategy."
