Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds vow to give JJ Watt 'PowerPoint on UK football restrictions' after Burnley owner sees X account locked following Premier League copyright infringement

Watt's co-owned Clarets conceded a last-minute equaliser against Luton on Friday, which saw Carlton Morris head home in the 92nd minute despite an apparent foul on goalkeeper James Trafford. The NFL legend then took to X to bemoan the decision, writing: "I’m new to this ownership thing, so if I get fined by the Premier League, so be it… This is as blatant and obvious of a foul as you could have. To miss this on the field AND miss this on VAR is truly disgraceful."

In it, Watt had uploaded a recording of the match in question from his TV, an infringement of the Premier League's copyright regulations.

Seeing his X account locked as a result, Watt shared a screenshot with the words "That was quick". McElhenney then jokingly offered a hand on explaining why he had been punished, writing in a quote tweet: "Oh JJ. @VancityReynolds and I will give you the PowerPoint on UK football restrictions. You might wanna carve out the week."

For Watt, Burnley's dropped points will undoubtedly be a bitter pill to swallow - and much harder to take than any potential ban from X. Against Luton, the Clarets were on for just their fourth league win of the season, which would have put them level on points with their fellow relegation candidates. Instead, they secured just their third draw this campaign, and could see the four-point gap with the Hatters stretch even further if they win their game in hand.

While Burnley are not in action until January 31, when they take on champions Manchester City, Wrexham face Newport in League Two next weekend. Unlike Watt's struggling Clarets, Reynolds' and McElhenney's Red Dragons are flying in their league. Two points off Stockport in top with a game in hand, the Hollywood duo are in with a real shot of landing back-to-back promotions with the Wales-based outfit.
