    WHAT REAL MADRID SAID

An official club statement read: "Following tests carried out today on our player Eduardo Camavinga by the club’s Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his left leg. Pending evolution."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Camavinga’s injury rules him out for almost two to three weeks of action and means he will miss three crucial La Liga matches against Getafe, Athletic Club, and Girona, as well as a pivotal Champions League clash with Atalanta on December 10. However, the former Rennes star is optimistic about a potential return in time for Real Madrid’s league encounter with Rayo Vallecano on December 14.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

This is not Camavinga’s first injury blow of the season. Earlier in the campaign, he missed 12 matches for club and country due to a left knee injury sustained in training ahead of Madrid’s UEFA Super Cup triumph over Atalanta in August.

    WHAT NEXT FOR REAL MADRID?

Real Madrid’s current injury list is alarmingly long, with key players sidelined at a crucial juncture of the season. Defenders Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal are recovering from anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, while David Alaba is still working towards full fitness after his own ACL setback. Camavinga's midfield partner Aurelien Tchouameni is also unavailable after sustaining an ankle injury, leaving Ancelotti with limited options in central areas. Additionally, Brazilian stars Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo are nursing hamstring injuries. Carlo Ancelotti’s men face a gruelling period with seven matches over the next three weeks before the winter break starting with a La Liga fixture against Getafe on Sunday.
