Ollie Palmer & Paul Mullin join Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool & Wolverine! 105-goal Wrexham striker fills ‘Welshpool’ role in blockbuster film as Blake Lively also gets cameo credit

Red Dragons frontman Palmer has confirmed that, after blagging his way into the production, he features in the latest blockbuster release from Marvel Studios. He is an extra during a bar scene, but his face can be spotted on screen by the eagle-eyed.

Mullin has been slightly more difficult to spot, as his head is covered during his brief debut as a movie star. The prolific forward, who has registered 105 goals for Wrexham, plays the role of ‘Welshpool’ – one of several Deadpool alter egos that figure in the film.

Reynolds shared a picture of the two in costume with the message: "You may have noticed one member of the Deadpool Corps was far deadlier than the rest. WELSHPOOL."

Mullin’s character appears in a Deadpool costume adorned with the Welsh flag. He is given an official credit by IMDB, as is Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively – who plays Lady Deadpool. Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney has joked about his TVA Soldier character not making the final cut.

Reynolds has finished trekking the globe promoting the new Deadpool film, allowing him to return home to Vancouver for Wrexham’s friendly date with the Canada-based Whitecaps MLS franchise. He will be hoping to see Mullin back out on the field in the not too distant future, with surgery ruling the 29-year-old out of another pre-season tour of North America.
