MLS is going nowhere! Arsenal set to hand Myles Lewis-Skelly new contract & bumper pay rise as Gunners look to see off Real Madrid transfer interest

Lewis-Skelly has agreed a new long-term contract at the Emirates and an official announcement is expected soon, according to Arsenal reporter Charles Watts. The Gunners have made the move to secure Lewis-Skelly's future after a brilliant breakthrough campaign last season that drew interest from Real Madrid. According to The Athletic, the new deal will include a hefty salary increase that will make him one of best-paid youngsters in the world.

Manager Mikel Arteta was said to have played a crucial role in the contract talks as he aims to lock down Lewis-Skelly's future. The 18-year-old made 39 appearances for Arsenal last season, famously scoring his first goal for the club against Manchester City and then imitating Erling Haaland's celebration. His performances for the Gunners also saw Lewis-Skelly handed a maiden call-up to the England squad, and he scored on his debut against Latvia at Wembley.

Lewis-Skelly's goal for England ensured he became the youngest debutant to score for the Three Lions at the age of just 18 years and 176 days.

Arsenal will be bidding for trophies in 2025-26 after finishing last season empty-handed. Lewis-Skelly looks set to play a key role again for the Gunners and will also be hoping to be part of the England squad for 2026 World Cup.
