Fluminense manager Fernando Diniz has confirmed that the Brazilian club are on the verge of sealing the signing of Arsenal's Marquinhos.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The Arsenal outcast, who has appeared in just six games in the last two seasons for the club, is all set to join Fluminense, as confirmed by their manager. The Brazilian side are trying to sign the youngster on a loan-to-buy deal and the negotiations with the Gunners are at the final stage.
WHAT FERNANDO DINIZ SAID
Speaking to reporters, the Fluminense manager said, "Marquinhos is probably coming back. Fluminense signed very well this window. I am very happy with who we have signed at the beginning of the year."

The 20-year-old joined the Gunners from Sao Paulo ahead of the 2022/23 season but was sent on loan to Norwich City in January 2023. Ahead of the current campaign, he returned to the North London side but was sent on a second loan spell to Ligue 1 side Nantes. He was recalled last month and is now set to move back to his native country. In France, Marquinhos appeared in just seven matches in the last six months where he provided just one assist.
