Man Utd identify cut-price Juventus star Bremer as priority centre-back target amid FFP concerns - but Real Madrid want him too

Per iNews, United's top priority in the summer is signing a centre-back and both Juventus' Bremer and Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite have been identified as targets. Financial Fair Play regulations and a potential redevelopment of Old Trafford puts United in a difficult monetary position but Bremer has a release clause of £43 million ($55m) and is thus seen as an attractive option, although United are not the only club monitoring developments.

Real Madrid, Chelsea and Tottenham are all mentioned as holding an interest in signing Bremer this summer, and Juventus are already taking steps to replace him. United may need to sign two centre-backs, however, as they are willing to sell Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez is injury prone, hence their interest in Branthwaite, although Everton are demanding as much as £75m ($96m).

Bremer has played in every Serie A game this season, bar one, in which he was suspended. He has been with Juve since 2022 and has a contract until 2028, with a total of 71 appearances under his belt. He has also won three caps for Brazil.

United will hope to secure European football via the Premier League in order to fund bigger moves in the summer. They currently sit sixth, eight points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa and six behind Tottenham, although Spurs have a game in hand.
