The Sun claims United are monitoring the 30-year-old, who could be available for around £8 million ($10m) this summer. Since returning from a knee injury last November, he has played just 15 times for Atletico and could be available 'on the cheap'.

United have had a slew of injury problems this season, particularly in defence. Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw, both left-back options, have been on the sidelines for a long time so a possible move for the former Lille man could add some much-needed strength in depth.

If Reinildo were to move to Old Trafford he would become the first player from Mozambique to play in the Premier League. Incidentally, the report adds that Aston Villa and Juventus are also keeping tabs on the defender.

If Mozambique international Reinildo were to move to the Premier League this summer, his last games for Atletico could be against Celta Vigo, Getafe, Osasuna, and Real Sociedad in the remaining weeks of the La Liga season.
