More Man Utd misery! Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof face race against time to play again this season as injury recovery timelines revealed

Lindelof had to be subbed off due to a hamstring injury in the second half of United's Premier League clash against Brentford last week. The Sweden international was replaced by Martinez who detected a calf problem after the game.

Now the Red Devils have officially confirmed that the defender have been ruled out of action for at least a month with muscle problems. The Argentine defender has been absent for much of the 2023/24 campaign with multiple injuries. The World Cup winner has appeared in just nine Premier League games and 11 across all competitions.

The official statement from the club read, "Manchester United centre-backs Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez will be out of action for at least a month due to muscle injuries."

After disappointing result against Brentford that saw the Bees score a last-minute equaliser, Erik ten Hag's side will be back in action in the Premier League on Thursday as they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Martinez and Lindelof will be hoping their respective recoveries go well, otherwise they may not play again this campaign.
