    The WSL Player of the Season shortlist has been released and alongside Arsenal defender Wubben Moy and Chelsea forward James, Manchester City striker Khadija Shaw and Brighton attacker Elisabeth Terland have been picked. City keeper Khiara Keating, Chelsea full-back Niamh Charles, Leicester City forward Jutta Rantala, and Tottenham midfielder Grace Clinton - on loan from Manchester United - have also made the shortlist.

    While personal accolades are a great honour, the likes of City and Chelsea in particular are fully focussed on winning the WSL title. The race for that particular trophy could go down to the final day between the two aforementioned sides.

    DID YOU KNOW?

    City's Shaw was named Women's Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers' Association earlier this month. Her 21 goals in 18 WSL games helped her scoop this gong, beating out James and team-mate Alex Greenwood into second and third respectively. She became the second Citizens player to win this award following Nikita Parris' triumph in 2019.
