  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Tottenham's poor form in the Premier League under Postecoglou has been evident all season long, and the Lilywhites were on the losing side yet again when they travelled to Craven Cottage. Spurs lost 2-0 to Fulham via second-half goals from Rodrigo Muniz and Ryan Sessegnon, and Postecoglou singled out Bissouma for criticism after his team's 15th league loss of the season.

  • WHAT POSTECOGLOU SAID

Speaking to the media, Postecoglou said: "I feel Biss sometimes lets the game drift by him; he needs to be more dominant. Today, we needed more in that position. I had needed him to play because he hasn't played a lot. At the same time, I need him to perform. It is safe to say maybe Biss and a few guys lack a bit of confidence, but at this stage of the season, we need people to perform."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

It is likely that Spurs will part ways with the Malian midfielder in the summer, with reports suggesting that Spurs will accept any offers that come their way. Bissouma's contract expires in the summer of 2026, and Tottenham don't plan on offering him a new deal.

    WHAT NEXT FOR BISSOUMA?

Bissouma will likely remain a major part of Postecogou's set-up at Tottenham for the rest of the season due to their heavily-depleted squad. As such, he could be a starter again for Spurs in their first match after the international break against London rivals Chelsea.
