  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Fenerbahce are reported by Turkish publication Takvim to have already put forward an €8 million (£6.8m/$8.6m) offer for Hojbjerg in an attempt to strengthen the 'number six' role. Tottenham aren't interested in selling for that number but haven't closed the door if the bid is substantially improved.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The report notes that €15m (£12.7m/$16.1m) is the fee that Spurs will consider selling the Denmark international for. But Fenerbahce have reservations about going that high given that Hojbjerg will be out of contract in 2025. As such, an improved is expected to be only slightly raised to €10m (£8.4m/$10.7m).

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Hojbjerg joined Tottenham from Southampton in 2020 a few months into Mourinho's reign in north London and immediately became one of the first names on the teamsheet for the boss. He had started all 32 Premier League games by the time Mourinho was ultimately sacked in April 2021.

    WHAT NEXT FOR HOJBJERG?

Hojbjerg, who has continued to rack up the overall apperance numbers at Spurs but only started eight league games in 2023-24, is currently with Denmark at Euro 2024. He started their draw with Slovenia on Sunday and will face former club-mates Harry Kane and Kieran Trippier when the Danes take on England on the evening of June 20.
