  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The 29-year-old has made just six Premier League starts this term and speculation has mounted that this season may be his last at City. Now, ex-Tottenham and Aston Villa boss Sherwood believes the England international should "try something different" and potentially move to a team such as Milan.

    WHAT TIM SHERWOOD SAID

He told OLBG: "If Jack Grealish wants a change of scenery, then he moves away from the Premier League and tries something different. I think he's capable of turning his hand to any league in the world, including with AC Milan. He is very versatile. He's a top-drawer player, a special talent. He always has been. He's fulfilled his ability. I think he'd be disappointed, as disappointed as I am, that he hasn't played on a more regular basis for England in a position where I think suits him in the number 10 role, but we know how much traffic there is in the way for that role. But for me, he's one of the best. And I think if he decides that he wants to go to another country, I think he'd be a superstar out there."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Grealish now looks a shadow of the player City paid £100 million ($123m) for from Aston Villa in 2021. Pep Guardiola doesn't seem to rate him as highly as he once did and perhaps linking up with ex-City team-mate Kyle Walker and United States men's national team star Christian Pulisic at San Siro could reignite his career. Whether that happens remains to be seen.

    WHAT NEXT?

In the meantime, Grealish will hope to feature for City against bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
