GOAL offers our predictions for this week's game below.

  • LA Galaxy v Seattle Sounders - Leagues Cup SemifinalGetty Images Sport

    SATURDAY GAMES

MLS: HOUSTON DYNAMO 3, LA GALAXY 1

GOAL verdict: Four wins and 16 losses after 27 league games makes it hard to look at the Galaxy as anything but second-best in this clash. They’ve won only league one game in their last five, although they did make it all the way to the semifinals of the Leagues Cup, eventually finishing third. The Dynamo have lost just once in their last five games, which means the form chart is on their side.

MLS:  FC DALLAS 2, ST LOUIS 1

GOAL verdict: Three consecutive losses for St Louis doesn’t make for pretty reading, and FC Dallas’ form does give them a slight edge. They’re unbeaten in their last three games and have lost just once in their last five in MLS. It does mean that this fixture could very well be close, but Dallas should have enough in the tank to sneak away with the win.

MLS: CHICAGO FIRE 2, NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION 0

GOAL verdict: After a good start, things have calmed down for Greg Berhalter and the Fire - although not in the direction that they would have wanted. They still remain in a hunt for a playoff place. The same cannot be said for the Revolution. They’ve been in average form, losing three and winning two in their last five, which make the Fire the favorites.

NWSL: KANSAS CITY CURRENT 3, BAY FC 0

GOAL verdict: Bay FC haven’t tasted victory since June 8, while the Kansas City Current haven’t lost since early May, making this clash appear one-sided. Bay’s recent struggles offer little encouragement, especially with the league’s top-ranked club on the other side.

    SUNDAY GAMES

NWSL: CHICAGO STARS 2, ORLANDO PRIDE 2

GOAL verdict: The Stars have managed just one victory in the 2025 NWSL season, which explains why few expect them to trouble Orlando Pride. Yet, despite their struggles, the Stars are unbeaten in their last five matches, grinding out draws. With Orlando’s form proving inconsistent, this has all the makings of another tightly contested stalemate.

NWSL: WASHINGTON SPIRIT 3, SEATTLE REIGN 2

GOAL verdict: A tough fight in the race for a spot in the top five sees the second-place Spirit take on the fifth-place Reign - and it could be anybody’s game. The former are unbeaten in their last five but have managed just two wins, while the latter have drawn three, lost once and won one in the same period. However, the Spirit do have the edge based on their form - and Trinity Rodman back in the starting lineup.

NWSL: ANGEL CITY 2, GOTHAM FC 2

GOAL verdict: Angel City put on a show against Bay FC thanks to Riley Tiernan's fearlessness in front of the net. In just the 12th minute, Tiernan scored, furthering her case for Rookie of the Year. Gotham beat Orlando City - a big win for a club who have been struggling to earn results despite having the Golden Boot leader on their squad, Esther Gonzalez. Too close to call, make it a draw.

MLS: AUSTIN FC 2, SPORTING KC 1

GOAL verdict: Given their form, there’s nothing that should stop Austin FC from walking away with a comfortable win. But soccer is rarely played on paper, even if Sporting KC have won just once in their last seven games. They had a similar record going into their clash against Colorado Rapids and still beat them 4-2. That said, Austin have lost just once in their last six games, which should give them the nod.
