Emi Martinez & Argentina players repeat infamous Kylian Mbappe chant to mock Raphinha after exacting revenge on Brazil star for foul-mouthed pre-Superclassic comments

Raphinha made the mistake of issuing some foul-mouthed pre-match words about Argentina ahead of the 4-1 humbling in Buenos Aires and as a result, the Barcelona forward was a target for La Albiceleste players and fans throughout the match.

After exchanging words with Leandro Paredes and bumping into Emi Martinez on his way to the changing rooms, the Aston Villa goalkeeper made sure to conduct the remaining Argentina fans in an infamous chant that was last heard being sung to France talisman Kylian Mbappe following the 2022 World Cup final.

In English, the song translates to: "A minute of silence... Shh!... For Raphinha who is dead!" The fans were also heard regularly chanting: "Sub in Raphinha, you son of a b*tch," despite the 28-year-old playing the entire match.

Argentina booked their place at the 2026 World Cup before the win over Brazil, and are being favoured heavily to retain their global crown in the U.S., Mexico and Canada next summer. Meanwhile, Brazil sit four places and 10 points back from their arch-rivals in the CONMEBOL table, with work to do if they are to qualify for the event.
