Company for Christian Pulisic & Weston McKennie! Two more USMNT stars in Serie A as 2024 Olympics duo Tanner Tessmann and Gianluca Busio secure promotion with Venezia

Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah are already turning out at that level for AC Milan, while Weston McKennie and Tim Weah are on the books at Juventus. They now have company after seeing the 2023-24 campaign in Italy come to a close.

The Serie B promotion play-offs have been completed, with Venezia battling their way to a 1-0 victory over Cremonese. Christian Gytkjaer netted the only goal of that two-legged contest, with his decisive strike being teed up by United States international Busio.

Former Sporting Kansas City midfielder Busio played the best part of an hour against Cremonese, while Tessman took in the full 180 minutes across both games – winning 11 duels in the middle of the park during a vital second-leg clash and completing four tackles.

The pair have been crucial to Venezia’s cause this season, registering 13 goals and seven assists between them, and will be hoping that rubbing shoulders with Pulisic, McKennie and Co in Serie A allows them to add more senior international caps to their respective collections – having been left out of Gregg Berhalter’s plans for the 2024 Copa America, but making Marko Mitrovic’s Olympic roster for a trip to Paris.
