WHAT HAPPENED?
The Mali international centre-back has been impressive since joining the Portuguese club in 2022 and in the 2024-25 campaign, he has appeared in 25 matches across competitions. His consistent performance for Braga has attracted interest from Premier League giants Manchester City and Manchester United who are keen on securing the defender's signature, according to Africa Foot.

The report adds that United scouts have been tracking the progress of the 25-year-old in the Europa League since last season and now Ruben Amorim wants to add the player to their squad. Pep Guardiola too appreciates Niakate's abilities and the English giants are expected to table a formal offer in the January transfer window.
